Prüfungsimmanente Lehrveranstaltung

In diese LV werden nur bereits angemeldete und in der 1. Stunde anwesende StudentInnen aufgenommen. Nicht anwesende unentschuldigte TeilnehmerInnen werden von der LV abgemeldet. Ein zweimaliges entschuldigtes Fernbleiben wird toleriert, etwaige weitere Abwesenheiten resultieren in einer Abmeldung von der Lehrveranstaltung, falls dies waehrend der Abmeldefrist (31.10.2013) geschehen ist bzw. einer negativen Benotung nach Ablauf der Abmeldefrist. Abmeldungen bitte per e-mail an: sabine.neuwirth@univie.ac.at Nach Absolvierung eines Tests/Pruefung und anschließendem Fernbleiben des Teilnehmers von weiteren Tests/vorgesehenen Pruefungen wird der Teilnehmer negativ beurteilt.

Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung

The class covers the basic concepts and some of the most important aspects of international law. It deals with the formation of international law (its sources), the role of states; International Organizations and individuals in international law; dispute settlement and the international use of force.

Art der Leistungskontrolle und erlaubte Hilfsmittel

Participation in discussions in class (30 per cent) and final written exam (70 per cent)

Basic understanding and knowledge of international law

Prüfungsstoff

Presentation and discussion of select topics on the basis of material provided by the instructor.
