Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung
This course will examine the principal legal issues concerning intergovernmental organizations. These include the legal status and powers of organizations, membership and participation, norm-creation, dispute settlement, enforcement of decisions, peace and security activities, human rights supervision, and finally the organizations' privileges and immunities as well as their legal status and powers under national law. It will be based on discussing reading assignments which have to be studied by the students in advance.
Art der Leistungskontrolle und erlaubte Hilfsmittel
Final written exam in mid-June plus class participation.
1. Written examination There will be one final exam which will be worth 70% of the final course mark.
2. Class participation This will include demonstrated preparation for class and participation in discussions and will be worth 30% of the final course mark.
