030730 KU Unraveling New Horizons: Exploring EU’s Proposed AI Liability Framework and Corporate Finance (2023W)

The lectures aim to enhance students' understanding of the interplay between current tort law regimes and the evolving landscape of artificial intelligence, emphasizing legal challenges as well as providing them with a comprehensive overview of the regulatory framework governing AI in the European Union, laying the foundation for in-depth exploration. In addition, the aim is to establish a cohesive nexus between the realms of corporate finance and civil liability arising from the deployment of artificial intelligence. In that manner, the second part of the lectures aims to educate students on the transformative impact of AI, identify opportunities for innovation, and address challenges and risks associated with AI implementation in corporate finance.
These lectures will adopt an ex-cathedra format to systematically present key thematic units encompassing the intersection of corporate finance and civil liability in artificial intelligence. After the exposition of each unit, a structured discussion component will be introduced to actively engage students in comprehensive deliberation, encouraging critical analysis, reflection, and collaborative exploration of the presented topics.
