Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung
The goal of this course is to familiarize students with a broad range of theoretical and practical perspectives on the strategy and organization of the multinational firm as global network.Specifically, this course is concerned with the evolution, the strategy process, the formation of the organization structure and the communication strategy of the MNC. The student is expected to develop skills in evaluating international competitive strategies in multicultural environments, in designing alternative organisational forms for multinational firms, in applying communication strategies, in the use of international licensing, strategic alliances, merger & acquisitions, consortia, franchising and clusters, in identifying appropriate forms of market entry, and in evaluating alternative corporate social responsibility activities in different international institutional environments.

a. 4 summaries from 4 different topics (20) (4 summaries must be submitted!)
The relevant articles are published on MOODLE.
The summary must include:
1. Summary of the author’s arguments (2 pages);
2. Critique: Discuss the strength and weaknesses of the study (1-2 pages).
b. Case Study Presentation (2-4 persons) (30)
c. Active participation in the class and the public lectures (20).
MINIMUM attendance: 75 %
d. Exam (50) – minimum 40 %!
