Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung
The course will be ran fully online with streamed lectures and student presentations.In this seminar students will practice finding economic information as well as analyzing and presenting it with both, online presentations and written seminar papers. The focus of the seminar is broadly within applied microeconomics and students have a high degree of influence on the selection of topics. The main goal is to learn to critically discuss and asses scientific papers. The course will also offer the students a chance to substantially deepen the understanding of their subfields of interest within applied microeconomics.
Art der Leistungskontrolle und erlaubte Hilfsmittel
To complete the seminar the following activities are mandatory:* Presentation of a research synopsis and a pro seminar draft* A seminar paper based on the draft* Brief comments on other student's synopsis and draft and active participation and discussion during class meetingsGrade is composed as follows:

Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab
Assessment is based on the quality of the presentations, the written work and student's class participation. Since the course does not have a final exam, students are expected to present twice, comment on one synopsis and one presentation and write a seminar paper to pass the course.
