Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung
This course will review scholarly manuscripts in leading journals in the area of Logistics and Supply Chain Management that have gained much attention in the scientific community and among managers. In the winter semester, we focus on new techniques and exciting results of outstanding empicial works dealing with inventory - one of the core drivers for success in any organization. Readings for the course will be selected on research that used primary data (e.g., survey data) and secondary data (e.g., stock market data).The course includes short instructor tutorials (e.g., overview of empirical methods, software briefings), class discussion, brief paper reviews (max. 2 pages), paper assessments (max. 8 pages), and presentations (that are based on the paper assessments; around 10 minutes) - some assignments may be prepared in groups of 2-4 students.

The course includes short instructor tutorials (e.g., overview of empirical methods, software briefings), class discussion, brief paper reviews (max. 2 pages), paper assessments (max. 8 pages), and presentations (that are based on the paper assessments; around 10 minutes) - some assignments may be prepared in groups of 2-4 students.Dependent on the number of course participants, we meet several times on Wednesday (15:00-17:00) in the winter semester (5.10.2011 - 25.1.2012).
