Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung

2017 marks the 30th jubilee year of the major impact-rated Journal of World Prehistory (edited since 2008 by T. Taylor with an international advisory board). This lecture series presents an overview and synthesis of global prehistory as reflected in the pages of the journal, covering themes such as human dispersals in evolutionary and recent times, including island dispersals; the development of lithic technologies worldwide; the transition to agriculture; the development of the first metals; and the emergence of complex societies.
