The series consists of 12 twelve lectures (including a German summary at the last session) covering main aspect of British Empire history from 1500 to 2000.

Art der Leistungskontrolle und erlaubte Hilfsmittel

Written exam lasting 90 minutes. Students may answer on any two of the main eleven themes in either German or English

Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab

The purpose of the lecture series is to acquaint students with an overview of Britain's imperial past. Roughly half the lectures deal with the slow withdrawal from the imperial role. The lectures also offer the students an opportunity of deepening their knowledge of English-language historiography.
