Information
Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung
This proposal workshop shall help master students to design their own research project and to write an academic research proposal for their master thesis. The first two long blocks on 17 and 24 October, 9:45am-1pm, are going to set the basis for the development of your own project idea. You will learn about formal criteria, content-related requirements for an academic research proposal, basic information on an appropriate research question, the creation of a corpus, methodological choices and the structure of your future research as well as on time schedules and deadlines. From 7 November onwards, the weekly sessions (11:30am-1pm) will be divided in two parts: You will receive a training in academic writing (discussion of weekly assignments) and you will be asked to present your research project in class and give feedback to your fellow students. While the proposal workshop is mandatory for the students of the EMGS master programme, participation is also open to other master students of history.
