Prüfungsimmanente Lehrveranstaltung

Lektüre und Interpretation des naturwissenschaftlichen Hauptwerks Platons. Das besonderer Interesse gilt dem naturphilosophischen Denkstil, der alle großen "realistischen" Metaphysiker von Parmenides, Anaxagoras, Demokrit bis Kant ("Allgemeine Naturgeschichte und Theorie des Himmels") kennzeichnet.
Textgrundlage ist die zweisprachige Ausgabe: Platons Timaios, griech.-deutsch, in der Philos. Bibl. Meiner, Hamburg 1992, von H.G. Zekl.
Grundlegend dazu: der Kommentar von F.M.Cornford (Plato's Cosmology, Repr.1997) und
die Arbeiten von Harold Cherniss: Aristotle's Cristicism of Plato and the Academy, Repr.New York 1962, und: Selected Papers, Leiden 1977.
