Information

Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung

Teachers are faced with heterogenous groups in which each and every learner has different experiences, backgrounds, attitudes and knowledge. Therefore the "one size fits all"-approach in teaching neither meets the individual learner's needs to increase his/her knowledge, abilities and skills nor supports the progress of learning of everyone.
The focus of teaching has to shift from teacher-centered to learner-centerd teaching in which the individual learner is provided with the possibility to participate actively in his/her learning process in- and outside school and develop his/her own way of acquiring new competencies.

This course is aimed at introducing methods of differentiation, individualization and personalization within the ELT classroom.
Participants will
• be able to identify different learners needs,
• get to know and be able to design different tasks for individual learners.

Objectives:
• Discovering one’s approach to teaching and learning
• Defining Differentiation - Individualization - Personalization
• Analyzing ELT activities according to teaching aims and learner needs
• Adapting and designing activities and tasks for different purposes, levels and learning styles
