Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung
This course is designed to introduce students to key aspects of Sino-Japanese relations, with a focus on the post-normalization period. Discussion topics include the process of the diplomatic normalization, Taiwan issue, historical contentions, territorial disputes, security relationship, American factor, nationalism in China and Japan, and other emerging issues in current Sino-Japanese relations.

Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab
The goal of the course is to help students to gain different perspectives on the dynamics between China and Japan, most importantly, the domestic and international factors that affect this relationship.
Prüfungsstoff
Students are required to do assigned readings before each class, do presentations in classes and actively participate in class discussions. Students are also required to write a term paper on a certain topic related to the course. Class attendance on time is required.
