Information

Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung

The Seminar focuses on the so-called "comfort women" in Taiwan and in China and on depicting them in literature and film.
The course is based on the documentary "Song of the Reed" (2014), its Director Wu Hsiu-Ching and her thoughts about how to film the "comfort women" 70 years after their enslavement, and their survival strategies.
"Song of the Reed" will be contrasted with the recent Chinese documentary "22" (and "32" if available)
