160149 VO Einführung in die kognitive Psychologie für LinguistInnen (2020W)

The main goal of the course is to give an overview of the basic concepts and topics of cognitive psychology. The course will cover topics related to basic, low-level cognitive functions that provide the grounds for human thinking as well as more complex, human-specific capacities. Specifically, lectures will center around topics such as perception, learning, memory, reasoning, decision making, etc. Meanwhile, students will acquire knowledge about the basic methods and experimental paradigms cognitive scientists use to explore such questions.
