Evaluation will be based on a final exam. The exam will be completed at home and submitted through Moodle. On Moodle you will find the following documents pertaining to the exam:
1. Information about the final exam, including details about the format of the exam, submission guidelines, and due dates.
2. The exam questions.
3. A guide with tips about writing essays.
All materials required for the exam will be available by mid-March.
Students will have a choice of 4/12 questions. Answers may be in the form of short essays, linguistic/grammatical commentary on text, or comparison of data sets, depending on the questions chosen.

Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab
100% of the grade is based on the exam. The minimum passing grade is 60%.
Prüfungsstoff
The final exam will be based on the lectures and readings, all of which are available on the class Moodle.
Literatur
Readings for this class will be drawn from various academic books and journals and other works. All will be made available through the class moodle either as PDFs or by links to external websites.

This class focuses on the synchronic grammatical systems of the Celtic languages and provides an overview of their more distinctive typological features, such as the phonology and morpho-syntax of initial mutations, and VSO syntax with its associated features. Primary focus is on the medieval Insular Celtic languages, but the Continental Celtic and the modern Insular Celtic languages will also be discussed.
