Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung

This class focuses on the synchronic grammatical systems of the Celtic languages and provides an overview of their more distinctive typological features, such as the phonology and morpho-syntax of initial mutations, and VSO syntax with its associated features. Primary focus is on the medieval Insular Celtic languages, but the Continental Celtic and the modern Insular Celtic languages will also be discussed.

Evaluation will be based on a final exam.

Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab

100% of the grade is based on the exam. The minimum passing grade is 60%.

Prüfungsstoff

The final exam will be based on the lectures and readings, all of which are available on the class Moodle.

Literatur

Readings for this class will be drawn from various academic journals and other works. All will be made available through the class moodle either as PDFs or by links to external websites.
