Active participation in-class activities, carry out the steps of the collecting and analysis a qualitative interview in a specified topic are required to finish the course successfully. Students will be expected to prepare a take-home assignment that will be discussed in the classes.
Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab
Regular participation is mandatory. Students need good command of English to be able to follow the seminar. The assignments for this pro-seminar should be handed in English. At the end of the course, students have rights to speak about all part of their performance with the instructor. In case of plagiarism in a part of assignments, the whole seminar will be considered as plagiarized.

In the context of qualitative research, qualitative interview approaches will be discussed with special consideration of the media education. The main topics are the development of the method, forms of qualitative interviewing, research tools, and practical aspects of conducting an interview. In the course, collecting and analyzing qualitative data will be practiced on the basis of self-interested topic and self-researched literature.Objectives:
The students can conduct a qualitative interview and analyze the data on a basis of their self-conducted qualitative interview in order to present their results of self-research in a scientific argumentation. The students can demonstrate understanding of the techniques of qualitative interview data analysis.Methods:
The students will carry out the steps for the collecting and analysis of qualitative interview in a blended learning setting. The steps include the research of literature, create a structured qualitative interview protocol, conduct an interview, conducting a technique of open coding, and presenting the results of self-conducted interview.
