Information

Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung

The seminar introduces some keyconcepts and central notions in studying war and warfare, conflict and violence. It questions established assumptions surrounding the issues and helps in analysing given manifestations. This is an inter-active course. Apart from introductory input and impulse lecturing the seminar is based on intense communication, open discussion, active contribution and group work of all participants, and makes use of multi-media materials and seminal texts.

Continuous assessment.

Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab

Marking is based on active participation including collective and peer-group discussion and short written work (30%), 10 minutes presentation (25%), and final paper (aprox. 20000 characters; 45%).
Closing date for final paper delivery: 27.02.2023

Prüfungsstoff

The assessment load is constituted by notions, concepts and approaches that were presented, examined and debated in the course as well as the discussed ethnographic case studies; all work done by the participants, whether collectively or independently.
