Information
Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung
This proseminar is meant to supplement "250096 VO Analysis on Manifolds". Students will present solutions to problems assigned during lecture on the board and receive feedback from the instructor and fellow classmates. We expect to cover around 8 problems per meeting. Attendance is expected and will be taken at the beginning of every class. If the absence of a class cannot be avoided, the student is expected to check with the instructor as soon as possible.
Art der Leistungskontrolle und erlaubte Hilfsmittel
The grade is determined by the quality of the blackboard-presentations and other contributions to the solutions of the exercises. If this does not give a sufficient basis, working out single exercises in writing can be demanded.
Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab
Two blackboard presentations of satisfactory quality of an assigned problem. If the schedule permits a third presentation can be used to get a higher score than one of the first two presentations. Small deficits in one presentation may be compensated by class participation (i.e. contributing to the discussion after other student presentations). Delivering solutions after the course in case of absence is not provided. The level of the course will follow the usual standards for master courses.
Prüfungsstoff
Literatur
The course and the seminar follow the lecture notes of Andreas Cap available on https://www.mat.univie.ac.at/~cap/lectnotes.html . Other textbook sources will be discussed in the lecture.
