Contents: This course begins with some of the foundational principles of public international law, including consideration of whether international law is really law compared to municipal law. It also examines the basic sources of international law, including treaties and customary international law. The course will then explore how international law is incorporated into municipal law in the United States, and will examine the relationship between the legislative and executive branches in the conduct of foreign relations in the United States.
Method: Lecture and discussion
