No prior bioinformatic experience is required but is highly desired. Knowledge of basic molecular evolutionary principles and orthology/paralogy concepts (as taught in various lectures, such as Molecular Evolution) is required.

The class will build groups of 3 persons each, that will focus on characterization of individual orthology type (e.g., one group working on chromosomal orthology, another on protein orthology etc). While no previous bioinformatic expertise is required, it is highly encouraged. We will attempt to mix groups of students with and without prior bioinformatic experience.We will have a pre-meeting (Vorbesprechung) on October 27th at 4pm. (Place to be announced)
