Assessment will be based on the following:
- Written assignments (40%)
- Mid-term test (20%)
- Final test (20%)
- In-class performance (20%)
Students will be allowed to use monolingual dictionaries during the tests (no electronic devices allowed).

Students need to reach at least 60 % of the overall score for a pass grade.
Students also need to pass at least one of the tests (60% of the score or more) in order to pass the course.
Attendance is mandatory (two absences are allowed).

< 60%: 5 (fail)

Both tests will be based on the text types and exercise formats used and discussed in class and in the written assignments.

Reading comprehension strategies and reading-based writing skills. Students will acquire text analysis methods that enable them to understand and discuss texts as communicative events.
Objectives:
Improvement of reading comprehension and text-based writing skills with a focus on exploring different types of meaning, organizing texts and integrating sources.
Methods:
In-class reading and writing activities (individual, pair, and group work), online activities, assignments in reading comprehension and text production.
