Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung

Introduction to basic aspects of translation; text analysis for translation; production of English texts based on German source data (G-E).
Course held in English; exclusively English text production.

Art der Leistungskontrolle und erlaubte Hilfsmittel

Class performance; two short mid-term tests (45 min. each) and one final test (90 min.).

Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab

Students will acquire basic strategies necessary for successful translation and learn functional assignment-focused approach to text production; improvement of text production skills; preparation for Bakk- and PIK-exams.

Prüfungsstoff

Lecture; text analysis and text production in class; discussion of texts prepared by students as homework; individual and team work.
