Assessment will be based on the following:
- Two tests (30% each)
- Completion of two written assignments (20% each, one individual/one partner assignment).
Students are allowed to use a monolingual dictionary in exams.
Attendance mandatory (two absences allowed).

- Students are required to demonstrate that they can apply and possibly adapt the methods and strategies presented in class to new texts and genres.

Students will achieve the course objectives by:
- analyzing and assessing a variety of texts (individual/group projects)
- writing, adapting/rewriting and optimizing texts for various situations, target groups and media
- reflecting on and discussing various steps in the text production process
- incorporating theoretical input given in class in their assignments and applying strategies and methods accordingly.

To become aware of and understand the needs of target groups and the impact that these have on text design and text writing. Further, to develop a personal approach to dealing with different types of texts and genres.CONTENT
We will look at different types of texts and their requirements with special attention to various text functions and types, media, target groups, writing process(es), revision, and argumentation.METHODS
Assignments will be prepared individually and in groups, completed at home and presented in class for discussion.
