Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The course will focus on the prophets from the Kingdom of Israel ("Northern Kingdom") - i.e. Elijah/Elisha, Hosea and Amos. The historical background and theological specifics of the Northern Kingdom will be discussed and confronted with those of the Kindom of Judah in the south.

Assessment and permitted materials

The overall grade will be determined by several components: attendance (2 missed classes during the semester maximum), active participation during seminar meetings (discussions on selected movies and criteria of their analysis; candid observation) and a final research paper of 15-20 pages on a topic to be chosen in cooperation with the instructor.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Fulfillment of the abovementioned requirements with about 50% of the grade deriving from the research paper.

Examination topics

There will not be any exam. This seminar has inherent examination character. Positive fulfillment of the abovementioned three elements (presence, active participation, research paper).
