Comprehensive understanding of the topics of the lecture - for a positive mark at least 50% of the given answers must be correct.

The course deals with the following topics:
- Substitution of God through (religious) terror and different kinds of heroism
- The relevance of the essential difference between God and man
- Naturalistic ideologies as presupposition of modern atheism
- Characteristics of idols, their omnipresence, and the God of liberation
- God, sacrifice, and reconciliation
- Idols and space, ban of images and time
- Prayer as testimony of the biblical God and rebellion, anger, protest, thanks, and acceptance as its main incentives
- God and ShabbatMain aims of the course
The main targets of this course are the knowledge of:
- the problem of substituting God in a time that tends to lose the faith in him
- the connection between modern naturalism and atheism
- the reasons of overstressing man’s capability leading him to idolizing himself
- the connection between religious ideologies, sacrifices, victims, and abusing God
- the eminent relevance of the biblical ban of images
- prayer as one of the basic testimonies of God
- the legitimation of struggling with God and even against God for God’s sakeMethod of the course
