Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
This lecture course deepens moral theological knowledge. It offers paradigmatic examples taken from the history of moral theology and present discussions. The aim is to analyse and classify classical and modern arguments used in ethical texts of the Catholic church and in theological ethical debate. The lecture course will integrate text reading and discussion of present ethical issues. Prerequisite for this lecture is basic knowledge of ethics or theological ethics. For those who have not yet completed basic lectures in ethics, the following book is helpful: James T. Bretzke, A morally complex world, Engaging Contemporary Moral Theology, Collegeville, Minn. 2004.
