Die Vorlesung behandelt den Themenbereich von Schrift als einer entscheidenden Form der Selbstkonstitution von Glaubensgemeinschaften, nimmt einen theologischen Standpunkt ein und hat dabei im Zentrum die biblischen Glaubensgemeinschaften jüdischer und christlicher Tradition. Daher ergibt sich auch die Frage nach der Bedeutung von Traditionen von selbst, ebenso die Frage nach deren Wirkungen und Wirksamkeiten, die sich mitunter deutlich über den eigenen Bereich hinaus erstrecken.

Aims, contents and method of the course

Main goals:
- Knowledge of the baselines of the origin of writings and holy writings
- Recognition of the reciprocal relationship between language and thought (possibilities)
- Formation of a concept of tradition that integrates the mobility of historical processes and the moment of their interruption.
- Understand the anti-Jewish motives of Christian theology and the attempt to overcome them since the Second Vatican Council.

- Concept of tradition

Methods:
- Lecture and presentations; discussions
- Topic-centered discussion of the contents of the overview sheets on Moodle.

Assessment and permitted materials

Oral exam, 15 min.
Content of exam: Content of the course or of the alternative literature
Facilities allowed during the exam: none
The language of the exam is either German or English.
Benchmark for a positive grad: rough knowledge of the topics mentioned above.

DUE TO THE MEASURES OF THE COVID19 CRISISIS, ORAL EXAMINATIONS WILL BE DIGITALLY PROCESSED THROUGH THE PLATFORM https://meet.jit.si/ ACCORDING TO THE EXAMINATION DATES THAT ARE ALREADY ADVERTISED. THE REGISTRATION PROCEDURE FOR THE EXAM REMAINS THE SAME. THIS EXAMINATION MODE IS VALID AS LONG AS THE PANDEMIA MEASURES REMAIN MANDATORY. (March 30th, 2020)

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The oral exam consists of at least two independent questions or subject areas. A positive assessment of the examination is achieved when the broad outlines of the subject areas have been covered and each part of the examination has been passed. - The examination performance is assessed as "sehr gut / very good" if the knowledge of the examination material clearly exceeds the average expected level of knowledge and if own, well based insights are brought in.
