Starting point is the "Konkordienformel" and the so-called "konfessionelles Zeitalter" which will lead to the thirty-years-war 1618-1648. The center of the lecture will be the parallel but different developments called pietism and enlightment. It will close with remarks on the French revolution and on the famous theologian Schleiermacher.
The aim of the lecture is to get an overview over this period, in which decisive developments for Christianity in modern times occured.
The lecure will include the opportunity to ask questions and discuss special items.
The reading and studying of additonal material provided on "moodle" is obligatory to achieve the 3 ECTS.
