Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The aim is to provide students with in-depth knowledge of the policy areas of the European Union "Area of freedom, security and justice" and "Civil protection" (including the "solidarity clause"). Students will also be given an overview of selected legal acts that are currently being negotiated and the associated legal and political problems. The focus is on asylum and migration policy as well as police cooperation at EU level. Furthermore, the historical development of the EU's policy areas in question is presented, essential ECJ decisions are analysed, primary legal provisions are explained and important secondary legal acts are presented.
