Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Content: selected chapters of legal and constitutional historyMethod: Using sources to be prepared independently (outside the course), the respective subject areas will be worked on in the individual exercise units, and students will be required to present the knowledge and skills they have acquired in written examinations.Aim: Insights into central topics of modern legal and constitutional history
Assessment and permitted materials
Written performance assessment in the form of two written exams and one substitute exam
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
The minimum requirement for a positive grade is a positive average of the two exams (each with partial material). The exams each last approx. 30-45 minutes; a failed exam will be assessed as a "fail"; the extent of participation is decisive between two grades, see learning platform for details.
Students who have taken part in at least one of the two exams but whose overall performance in the compulsory exercise is not sufficient for a positive grade have the right to take part in a substitute exam (overall material). The final grade is then calculated from the average grade of the negative overall performance up to that point and the grade of the substitute exam, whereby between 4 and 5 is rounded up in favor of the student. In other words, a "sufficient" substitute exam is sufficient for a positive final grade.
Examination topics
The examination material for the exams is announced on the learning platform before the exams; sources for the exams are taken from the "StEOP-Quellensammlung" of the institute ("QUESA").
