030303 KU Introduction to International Criminal Law (2009S)

1.50 ECTS (1.00 SWS), SPL 3 - Rechtswissenschaften
Continuous assessment of course work

The course will mainly deal with international crimes and the enforcement of international criminal law by international criminal courts. The course take will take place on the following four days: 11 March 14:00-15:30, 19 March 14:00-17:00, 26 March 14:00-17:00 and 20 April 16:00-19:00, always in room SEM 62, only on 20 April in room 61 (Juridicum main building, 6th floor). Attendance is compulsory in all classes. Group presentations in the second and third session, participation in a little moot court in the last session.

Limited number of participants. Preferred admission of students with knowledge in criminal law and international law. Recommended for participants of the seminar "International Criminal Courts" with little / no knowledge in international criminal law. For a preliminary registration please send an email to sabine.nunner@univie.ac.at with the information whether you have passed your exams in criminal law and international law. Final admission in the first session. The course counts for the specialization modules (Wahlfachkörbe) International Relations (Recht der Internationalen Beziehungen) and Criminal Justice (Strafjustiz und Kriminalwissenschaften) as well as foreign language proof for Austrian students (Fremdsprachennachweis).
