Aims, contents and method of the course

Syllabus:

1st unit: Marriages (applicable law and recognition); Divorce (jurisdiction, applicable law, recognition & enforcement); matrimonial property regimes (jurisdiction, applicable law, recognition & enforcement).
2nd unit: maintenance (jurisdiction, applicable law, recognition & enforcement); parentage parental (applicable law and recognition);
3rd unit: parental responsibility and visitation rights (jurisdiction, applicable law, recognition & enforcement); child abduction.

4th unit: exam.

Assessment and permitted materials

Oral participation in class (30%); final exam in the last unit (70%).

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Attendance in all three units; more than 40% of the total points in the exam; overall 50% of the available points for the course (exam & participation).

Examination topics

International family law in all covered fields; case solving and theory questions.
