Preliminary discussion: Friday, 08.10.2021, 11.30 a.m., set of slides will be published in the Moodle course.

Topic assignment: from Friday, 08.10.2021, 15.00 until Sunday, 10.10.2021, 23.59 via Moodle.

Mandatory date: Friday, 15.10.2021, 09.45-13.00, "Introduction to Legal Studies" - A guest link to the lecture will be provided in the Moodle course.

Submission of seminar papers: Friday, 17.12.2021, 10.00 a.m.

The presentations will take place in presence.

Update: The presentations will not take place in presence as planned. Instead, the students have to hand in a PowerPoint presentation with sound until 10 January 2022, 23:59, which lasts approx. 15 minutes and contains the main theses of the paper!

Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Within the framework of the seminar, a seminar paper from the area of private law/corporate law is to be written. This must be submitted to the supervisor by 17.12. 2021, 10:00 a.m. at the latest.

The presentation of the seminar paper is to be done in presence and has to contain the main theses of the paper. The presentation should last approximately 15 minutes. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, short-term changes in courses may be necessary. You will be notified of such changes in a timely manner.
The use of a Power Point presentation is strongly encouraged. Handouts are mandatory.
The presentation will be followed by a discussion of the content of the respective topic.

Students of the Faculty of Economics as well as students of the Faculty of Law may participate.

On 08.10.2021, 11:30 a.m., you will receive preliminary information, about the procedure of the topic selection. These will be made available via Moodle.

The topic selection will take place on the Moodle learning platform and is based on the "First Come, First Served" principle. It starts on 08.10.2021, 15:00, and ends on 10.10.2021, 23:59.
If you do not choose a topic by this deadline, you will be withdrawn from the course without a grade.

On 15.10.2021, there will be a unit on "Introduction to Legal Studies". Participation in this is mandatory. Non-participation will result in deregistration.

If a topic has been chosen and you have participated in the unit on "Introduction to Legal Studies", you cannot deregister and you will be graded.

Assessment and permitted materials

The assessment is based on the
- written seminar paper;
- oral presentation;
- participation in the discussion.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The continuous attendance at all dates is obligatory! This also applies in particular to the unit "Introduction to Legal Studies".
The written seminar paper will be assessed according to the usual criteria (min. 50,000 characters ~ 25 pages, compliance with good scientific practice). The paper has to deal with current and relevant issues (topics will be assigned on the Moodle learning platform on a first come, first served basis from 08.10.2021, 12:00, to 10.10.2021, 23:59) in the fields of corporate and private law.
During the presentation (approx. 15 minutes) the main theses of the seminar paper will be presented.

Examination topics

The subject matter of the examination is the presented topics from private law/corporate law.
