- principles of international law concerning friendly relations and cooperation among States
- diplomatic and consular relations
- basic principles of the law of international organisations
- the individual and international law
- state responsibility

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

To learn how to solve legal cases by applying knowledge gained in lectures and/or from text books.

Examination topics

Students are encouraged to participate actively in the discussion of the cases. Besides, a written paper and a short test at the end will be necessary for the successful completion of the course.

Reading list

The course materials will be available on the homepage of the department (http://www.univie.ac.at/intlaw/) from November 2005 in order to enable adequate preparation of the block course in January 2006.
