Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The seminar offers an introduction to freedom as a basic concept of law. Different understandings of freedom will be distinguished (e.g. freedom from interference, absence of subordination and oppression, autonomy and its paradox). The question of what is actually meant by "liberation" will then be discussed.

Assessment and permitted materials

seminar paper of roughly 12-15 pages, unless you decide to prepare a „Diplomseminararbeit“ and oral presentation on a topic of the seminar,
However, a "Diplomseminararbeit" can only be written after submission of a motivation letter and consultation with the course instructor.

Compulsory attendance at all dates , Participation at the discussion. seminar paper of roughly 12-15 pages, unless you decide to prepare a „Diplomseminararbeit“. However, a "Diplomseminararbeit" can only be written after submission of a letter of motivation and consultation with Prof. Somek.

Examination topics

Papers of the presentations of the participants with subsequent discussion.
