Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Our modern legal system would not be what it is had not been for the formative influence of liberal political theory. Historically, this influence in manifest “from Locke to Hayek”, as it were. The course would like to explore the internal link between liberalism and the law on the basis of readings taken from political philosophy and the case law of major courts. It begins by taking some contemporary challenges to liberal democracy into account.
