Aims, contents and method of the course
Assessment and permitted materials
The assessment will be based on the quality of the paper (70%), the presentation (20%) and the participation in the discussion (10%). All available materials are permitted.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Students must demonstrate their ability to do research in a new area and present their results in an understandable and interesting way. They must also show rhetorical skills in oral presentation and the ability to participate in a discussion with sound and convincing arguments.Assessment standard:
The grades will be based on the comprehensiveness, soundness and accuracy of the student’s paper and participation in the discussion. The quality of the English language will not affect the grade except where a lack of language skills leads to an incomprehensible paper.

Association in the course directory

At the beginning of the course, the students will be assigned a current topic from the field of international financial law. They will then write a 20 to 25-page seminar paper on this topic. The main findings are to be presented in a short lecture at the end of the course and then discussed in the plenum.The seminar thesis is to be written in English.Please send your preferred topics to brigitte.weidinger@univie.ac.at before Monday, 11 October 2021. List three topics, starting with your favourite one. If you do not send us a list of your preferred topics, we will simply assign a topic to you. In any case, we cannot guarantee that you will be assigned a topic from the list.
