Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The legal standing of religious communities in Austria will be axamined. Therefore a comparative analysis of the Concordate of 1933/34 and its additional agreements, the Federal Law on External Legal Relationships of the Protestant Church in Austria (Protestantengesetz 1961), the Federal Act on External Legal Relationships of the Greek-Oriental Church in Austria (Orthodoxengesetz 1967), the Act on External Legal Relationships of the Israelite Religious Society as amended in 2012 (Israelitengesetz in der Fassung von 2012) and the Act on External Legal Relationships of Islamic Religious Societies (Islamgesetz 2015) is necessary. Regarding for instance the legal standing of the Islamic religious Community in Austria this course is of importance as parallel regulations for other legally recognized religious communities will be examined.
Assessment and permitted materials
Final written sixty minute colloquium on 22nd June. Alternative dates for an oral colloquium will be available from the beginning of July onwards.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Regardless of the lecture-Status active participation is very welcome but not compulsory.

Two documents that will be made available.
Reading list
The mentioned documents will contain a good number of references to printed literature and judicature.
