Aims, contents and method of the course

The aim of this course is that students become familiar with modern instruments of macroeconomic policy . Topics covered include, but are not necessarily limited to:
(i) macroeconomic policy institutions
(ii) monetary and fiscal policy interactions
(iii) financial markets
(iv) financial instability and macro-prudential regulation
(v) policy responses to crises

Assessment and permitted materials

Written midterm exam (40%) + written final exam (60%)

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Students must earn at least 50% of the available points for passing the course. Grades are computed as follows:
100.0% - 87.50%: 1
87.49% - 75.00%: 2
62.50% - 74.99%: 3
50.01% - 62.49%: 4
00.00% - 50.00%: 5
