Aims, contents and method of the course
This course aims at enabling participants to develop skills necessary to write a scientific paper in the field of eServices. This includes gaining expertise about current topics in eServices as well as the ability to conduct required steps such as a literature review, choosing appropriate structure and layout and citing scientific references correctly. Participants in this class will write a seminar paper on a topic in eServices. Topics for this paper may include a variety of issues in the broader field of eServices such as electronic commerce, platform businesses, eLogistics, creative industries, service science, eMarketing, and collaboration etc.
Assessment and permitted materials
Term paper (delivered papers will be checked for plagiarism with the program Turnitin. The agreement with this procedure is a requirement for the participation in this class).
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Requirements to successfully pass the course: positive evaluation of the term paper (elaboration and report of a well-defined eService-topic).

Aims, contents and method of the course
This course aims at enabling participants to develop the skills necessary to write a scientific paper in the field of Analytics for eServices and Operations. This includes gaining expertise about current topics as well as the ability to conduct required steps such as a literature review, choosing appropriate structure and layout, and citing scientific references correctly. In particular, this seminar will focus on “Recent challenges and advances of E-Fulfillment”. We will discuss what e-fulfillment is from the perspectives of demand and supply chain management. Basic models and recent approaches to e-fulfillment will be discussed using recent research articles. You will work in groups of 2-3 students on a seminar topic in e-fulfillment. You will also have to present and discuss your work.
Assessment and permitted materials
Outline presentation (10%, e.g. with PowerPoint, Zwischenpräsentation)
Peer review and moderation of another group’s presentation (10%, peer review form, and moderation)
Final presentation and discussion of topic (40%, e.g. with PowerPoint, Endpräsentation)
Term paper (40%, Seminararbeit)1) Fulfilling all partial achievements is a prerequisite for positive assessment, if nothing else has been explicitly stated.
2) The use of AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT) for the production of texts is only allowed, if this is expressly requested by the course instructor (e.g. for specific assignments).
3) To ensure good scientific practice, the course instructor may request a "grade-relevant talk" (plausibility check) regarding the submitted written work. Attendance is mandatory for all on-site meetings.For a positive grade, students have to achieve at least 50 percent (overall score) and individually pass the term paper.
