Aims, contents and method of the course

Understanding the current challenges and long-term implications for the insurance industry as they arise from a low interest rate monetary policy and the regulatory environment (solvency II).

Assessment and permitted materials

Seminar thesis (60%)
Presentation (20%)
Active discussion of work of peers (20%)
Attendance mandatory. Course organization will be introduced and the presentation schedule will be arranged in the first meeting at October 3th. Failure to show up in the first meeting may result in the non-availability of presentation slots.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Each of the above components needs to be graded at least as "satisfactory"(grade 4.0) separately. This implies a minimum score of 50% on each component.

Preconditions: Principles of Finance and at least one of: Financial Intermediation, Market Microstructure, Corporate Finance.
