Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The lecture is an introduction to the economic evaluation of health care.It will focus in particular on the evaluation of health preferences, i.e.how medical and economic studies assess how people value health andsurvival. The course consists of a review of the different valuationmethods used in the literature and it will critically analyse theirfundamentals as well as their practical aspects (survey design andeconometrics). The idea of this course is to give students a solidunderstanding of the issues involved in valuing health by looking intomicroeconomics, social choice, questionnaire design and econometricsrelated to health preferences.
