Aims, contents and method of the course
The course aims at developing the students' competence in Italian in daily business situations (A2 Business).Main content overview: By the end of this course students are expected to be able to talk about past events and business experiences, tell the story of a company, talk about purchases, trade fairs, daily life in a company as well as describe products, give instructions, arrange appointments, perform phone calls, write short texts (i. e. mails and reports), write job applications, and conduct an interview.This course aims to develop and expand fundamental language skills and it is based on the skills which the students have acquired after the Basic Italian Course I (at a level comparable to A1 level on CEFR).The course and the exams are carried out on-site, as long as the pandemic situation allows it.FFP2 face masks: The the mandatory use of FFP2 face masks still applies at the University of Vienna.
Assessment and permitted materials
The final mark is made up of the following elements:
- two written intermediate tests → 35% of the final mark each
- a final oral exam → 20% of the final mark
- work during the semester (work during the course time + homework) → 10% of the final mark.In case of a significant study impairment or the like the students will be required to perform alternative tasks.There is no make up exam.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
In order to be able to follow the course, it is recommended that students already understand, speak, and write Italian to A1 level at the beginning of the course.Assessment criteria:

60-69%: 4 (pass)
70-79%: 3
80-89%: 2
90-100%: 1Class attendance is mandatory (with up to max. 4 absences).

"Affare fatto" (Unità 6-10) + materials on Moodle.All contents which will be dealt with during the lessons and the homework are relevant for the exams.The exam topics covered in each exam are communicated via Moodle.
