Aims, contents and method of the course

The main goal of this course is to refresh knowledge in the fields of organization and human resources obtained during undergraduate studies at a level that is adequate for Master students, and to achieve a common level of knowledge among all Master students coming from different institutions.
Specifically, the course covers the following topics:
• Basics: what are organizations and why do they exist
• Perspectives on the inner working of organizations
• Elements of organization design
• People in organizations
Method: lecture and classroom discussions, additional material will be provided via Moodle.

Written exam, open questions

The use of AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT) for the production of texts is only permited if they are expressly requested by the course leader (e.g. for individual work tasks).

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

50% of points in the exam

Bonus points
*2 bonus points can be earned through an additional assignment (details to be announced during the lecture)
*You can achieve 100% in the exam, without the bonus points.
*1 bonus point is the equivalent to 1 exam point.
*The bonus points will be valid for the exam at the end of January 2025, and the two following exam dates.
*Please note that bonus points collected in the 2024/25W term cannot be used for exams other than the ones specified above.
*A cheating attempt during the exam leads to the loss of all collected bonus points for all future examination dates.
