Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Corporate finance is a field of finance that deals with the financial activities and decisions of corporations. It focuses on maximizing shareholder value through long-term and short-term financial planning and the implementation of various strategies. We will cover the key areas such as Capital Budgeting, Capital Structure, Working Capital Management, and Dividend Policy. I will stick rather closely to Ivo Welch’s book on corporate finance.

If time allows, we will also discuss agency conflicts.

Overall, corporate finance plays a crucial role in ensuring that a company can effectively manage its financial resources, make informed investment decisions, and achieve its financial goals.
