Aims, contents and method of the course
Introduction to important methods and performance measurement tools in value based management, such as the net present value (NPV), economic value added (EVA), cash value added (CVA) and balanced scorecard.Methods: theory, case studies and exercises
Assessment and permitted materials
discussions, one problem set, a written mid-term exam and a written final exam at the universityThe use of AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT) for the production of texts is only permitted if they are expressly requested by the course leader (e.g. for individual work tasks).
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
- problem set (20%, in Excel), deadline: 14.01.2023.
- written, mid-term exam [40%]: 30.11.2023, 15:15.
In order to receive a positive grade, you have to achieve at least 50% of the score in the mid-term exam.
- written, final exam [40%]: 17.01.2024, 15:45.In case of similarities between submissions of students or a transfer of files between students, all of them will receive a score of 0 points for their submissions. Furthermore, for each of these students a case to check whether the whole course should be graded as cheated (X) in the transcript of records, will be initiated.At least 50% of the total points are required to pass.
