Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Aim of the course is to introduce students to scientific literature. Students will learn how to search for literature about a specific topic, how to classify research literature in the field of operations management, how to write a scientific work, how to summarize and give presentations on scientific topics. Students have to participate in class room discussions, they will have to write a seminar work and give a presentation.
Assessment and permitted materials
Homework, participation in class, a short report (max. 10 pages), and an oral presentation (max. 15 minutes).
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
This course has two aims:
- teaching basic knowledge for efficient reading of papers
- providing training for your master thesis
- teaching basic knowledge for efficient reading of papers
- providing training for your master thesis
Examination topics
A few lessons will be given (~3); then students will have some time to do research on a given topics (papers) by themeselves. Research results will be presented in class.
