Aims, contents and method of the course

This course tries to convey the main features of system and network administration under Linux. Some of the discussed topics are:

- System services, init-system, logging
- Software and packet management
- User administration
- Networking basics, networking security and network services

The objective of the course is that students are able to install, administer and maintain Linux based systems.

Oral exam after the course

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Basic knowledge of Linux based systems is needed. Completion of the course "Unix System Administration 1" is sufficient.
