Aims, contents and method of the course

Goal of this UE is to understand and be able to apply the most important concepts of modern operating systems. It is highly recommended (but not mandatory) to attend the VO in parallel.

Assessment and permitted materials

2 written tests (multiple choice, free text)
Participation in the UE
Up to 10% bonus points for extraordinary participation in the UE and in the forum in Moodle.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Study of computer science or media informatics

Mandatory attendance (for all UEs listed in Moodle)

Grading:
100-­?88%: Very good (1)
87-­?75%: Good (2)
74-­?63%: Satisfactory (3)
62-­?50%: Sufficient (4)
< 50%: Not sufficient (5)

In accordance with the guidelines of the University of Vienna this course will be held in English. Therefore knowledge at the B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages is recommended.
